Social Studies 9-10

Socials 9/10 Honours will encompass the study of history, geography and economics. The historical component of the course will focus on the political, economic and social development of North America in light of the changes taking shape in Europe with regards to revolution, nationalism and industrialization. The geographical component will examine Canada’s regional diversity along with its economic and social implications. The economic component will serve as an introduction to the study of economics with an examination of the economy of Canada, B.C. and global economic trends. In addition to the textbooks, Crossroads and Horizons, you will be expected to utilize library resources, the Internet and GIS software.
