Information and Communication Technology 8

This course is intended to teach the student the Microsoft Office software required to be computer literate at St. Thomas Aquinas through the high school years. An introduction to the school network, keyboarding, and ergonomics is the focus of the first unit. Safe Internet use and efficient researching on the Internet is the focus of the second unit. The next four units will cover the basics of word processing, spreadsheets, creating databases, and creating presentations. Proper business formatting will be stressed throughout the course. The final unit is a comprehensive summary project combining all six units in a fun but intensive assignment involving research on the Internet. This final assignment will be completed in lieu of a final exam.
