STA Alumni/Campus Ministry Pilgrimage - Italy & Medjugorje Youth Festival 

The STA Alumni Association, in conjunction with STA Campus Ministry, is hosting a pilgrimage to the Medjugorje Youth Festival and Italy. Photo 5.jpg

 

This pilgrimage is open to all STA alumni and their families.The Youth Festival is a spiritually dynamic annual gathering of up to 50,000 people in the small town of Medjugorje, in Bosnia & Herzegovina.  STA Campus Ministry has taken groups to the Medjugorje Youth Festival on four previous occasions. 

In Italy, we will visit the cities of Rome, Florence, Sienna and Assisi.The tour also includes visits to: major churches and Basilicas, the Vatican Museums, Catacombs, the Colosseum and more.

The trip will be led by Michelle Robertson, STA Campus Ministry coordinator 2006-2015, who has led over 20 international STA and parish pilgrimages and Elizabeth Hughes ‘12, current STA Campus Ministry coordinator.

The trip package includes:

  • Airfare from Vancouver International Airport to and from Europe.  Flight details TBA.
  • 7 nights’ accommodations.  In Italy, accommodations will be convent guest houses. Medjugorje accommodations is at the Marinko Kozina Pension   All accommodation will have AC.
  • All land transportation via private coach
  • Ferry from Italy to Croatia with overnight berths, dinner and breakfast included
  • Daily Breakfasts, daily lunches (main meal) in Medjugorje, and 3 meals in Italy
  • Guided tours of Rome, Florence and Assisi

Proposed itinerary

  • July 22-25         Rome
  • July 26-27         Florence and Sienna
  • July 28-29         Assisi  
  • July 30                Depart Assisi for overnight ferry from Bari, Italy to Dubrovnik, Croatia
  • July 31                Morning tour of Dubrovnik, lunch, afternoon swim in the Adriatic Sea and then bus to Medjugorje in time for dinner.
  • August 1-7        Medjugorje Youth Festival.  Attend daily Mass, Rosary, Festival program.  Visit Apparition Hill, Cross Mountain, local faith communities.  Evening programs includes theatrical presentation, Eucharistic Adoration, music.  Visit the beautiful local waterfalls for a swim.
  • August 8            Travel day: Bus to Split, Croatia and return flight to Vancouver.

 Approximate cost: $5500  

  • Price change is subject to flights as they have not yet been released, number of participants, and exchange rates.  Cost is for shared accommodation; single is $550 more
  • $500 deposit due upon registration
  • $2500 payment February 20, 2024
  • $2500 payment April 20, 2024
