How Do I Make a Counselling Appointment?

If you would like to make an appointment to see one of the counsellors please email counselling@aquinas.org.

What is Counselling?

Counselling is offered to all students who are experiencing social, emotional and/or relationship difficulties. Counselling offers a confidential, non-judgmental, and safe space for students to discuss their concerns with a trained professional. Our role is to listen and support you in areas where you may be having difficulties, in order to support your mental health and well-being. If you are looking for support, acceptance, empathy and information, counselling is the right place for you. To review a copy of the STA Counselling Consent Form, click here:

What is Confidentiality?

Confidentiality is keeping discussions and information private between the counsellor and the student. Confidentiality will be maintained at all times except for the following three exceptions:

  • You are going to hurt yourself
  • You are going to hurt someone else
  • You have been hurt by someone else

If any of the above situations arise the counsellor will discuss the options available to you in regards to staying safe. Your counsellor will always tell you if confidentiality cannot be maintained. If you have concerns about confidentiality, please discuss them with your counsellor.
